nwwsl summer league roadshow
The North West Women’s Summer League (NWWSL), supported by Girls in Motion, brought together teams from across the region for a fun, inclusive season of competitive squash. Instead of weekly fixtures, teams played monthly at four different host clubs – creating a festival feel at each round and making the league more accessible for new players.
We kicked things off in June at Liverpool Cricket Club, followed by a packed event at Bowdon in July, another fantastic day at Capitol in August, and a buzzing finale at The Northern in September. Each event was filled with competitive rallies, great sportsmanship, and lots of laughter – showing exactly what the NWWSL is all about.
Matches were designed to be social and welcoming, with plenty of post-match camaraderie to match the on-court action. The season was supported with fresh branding, graphics and ticketing created by GIM, helping the league feel professional and inclusive while showcasing the growth of women’s squash in the North West.
By the end of the summer, dozens of players had gained their first taste of league squash, and existing players deepened their connection to the game. The NWWSL Summer League proved that with the right support, women’s team squash can thrive – offering both competition and community in equal measure
