Junior copper tournament
The GIM Junior Copper Tournament in May 2025 gave 31 girls the chance to step onto court in a fun, welcoming competition built just for them. With players ranging from U9 to U17, and 17 experiencing their first ever tournament, the day opened the door for a new wave of girls to discover competitive squash in a safe and supportive setting.
The event wasn’t just about results – it was about confidence. Girls gained valuable match experience, learned how to score and mark, and enjoyed playing with the ‘right’ ball for their level. The atmosphere was relaxed yet exciting, showing that competitions can be both accessible and inspiring for young players.
As an England Squash–sanctioned event, the Copper Tournament added to the national ranking calendar and directly increased the number of girls competing across the country. Families, coaches and players left energised, and the girls left with new friendships, new skills, and the belief that squash is a sport where they belong.
