The northern psa womens squash festival

On 13th March, Girls In Motion hosted its Women's Squash Festival at The Northern — and what a night it was. The afternoon kicked off with coaching led by Julianne Courtice, alongside Alessia and Ruth, before a nutrition workshop on eating for hormones, energy and long-term health gave everyone some genuinely useful takeaways to carry off court. By the time the evening team competition started, the energy in the building was electric — great squash, loads of encouragement, and plenty of connections being made between games. To top it all off, the festival ran alongside the PSA Challenger Quarter Finals, with Egypt's Ruqayya Salem going on to win the PSA event — a brilliant night for women's squash all round.

The atmosphere was exactly what Girls In Motion exists to create — a space where women can play, compete, learn and belong. Whether it was a first taste of team squash or a chance to reconnect with the sport after time away, every woman who walked through the door helped build something special. The coaching, the competition, the food, the chat — it all came together to show what women's squash looks like when it's done right.
